Coalition for Collegial Governance

Welcome to the website of the Coalition for Collegial Governance (CoCoGov). We are a bottom-up initiative that started during the summer of 2025 at Dalhousie University while we were locked out by our university leadership.

Our aspirations are:

• to encourage a return and strengthened commitment to collegial governance, based on transparency in strategic planning and decision making, at Dalhousie University and in the higher education sector more broadly,
• to understand what impact corporatization and consulting firms such as NousCubane have at Dalhousie and at other universities in Canada, Australia, and elsewhere and to inform the academic community about what we learn, and
• to mobilize the academic community to bring about meaningful change in strategic directions and decision making based on the information we gather.
